Ek Chalis Ki Last Local

'What on earth did I just see?? I can't believe my eyes!' was the sentiment echoed by the audience, annoyed at tasteless gay jokes and classless language in a movie that could have been a nice entertainer. Nilesh (Abhay Deol) is a guy who works for a call center. One night, he hangs out with his buddies till late and ends up missing the last train home. So he's stranded in the city, for the night, with 70 bucks in his pocket. He bumps into a chick (Neha Dhupia, who's looking cute), gets into trouble with the mafia and ends up inheriting 2.5 crores. All in two and a half hours. It had all the ingredients for a fast paced comic thriller - good music, fine editing and some genuinely funny moments. But what screwed it up was the direction, rather the absence of it. Some scenes make you feel that the director, Sanjay Khanduri, has just taken the viewers for granted. It's almost as if he doesn't care to make the story seem logical or maybe he hoped that the audience would overlook cell phones being magically repaired or hand bags falling from the sky. The last twenty minutes of the flick were not really necessary. Although the movie looks good, it's ridiculous to comprehend. You might chuckle at the Rajnikant mimicry
